Hemisphere Coffee Roasters in downtown Mechanicsburg, Ohio was the site of a foot-stompin’ good time as Daniel Dye took the stage with the Miller Road Band to introduce his new album, playing three sets of fantastic bluegrass-infused indie folk music. Everything from the raucous sounds of “The Devil’s Drink” to the soulful “Take Me as I Am” was heard that night, as well as some great new material that will no doubt make its way onto the next album. And because we were just a few days away from the close of the year, the evening closed with a poignant rendition of “Auld Lang Syne” like you’ve never heard it before. It was a warm evening of food and music and friends old and new, who packed the place into standing room only status for much of the night.
A great way to end the old year and kick off 2011!
